Modern cataract surgery has a very short recovery, but a small number of do's and don'ts protect the healing eye.

Treatment options
Days 1–3: Mild watering, foreign-body sensation, glare. Vision improves rapidly. Days 4–14: Use antibiotic + steroid drops as prescribed. Wear protective glasses outdoors. Days 15–30: Final refraction. New spectacles if required.
When to see a doctor
Any pain, sudden vision drop, redness or discharge — call the clinic immediately.
Prevention
Avoid rubbing the eye, splashing water, dust exposure and heavy lifting during the first two weeks.
