Am I eligible for Ayushman Bharat / PM-JAY?

Eligibility is based on SECC-2011 data. Check on pmjay.gov.in or dial 14555. Approximately 12 crore families across India are covered. Bring your Aadhaar; we'll help you check.
What is covered under PM-JAY for eye care?

Standard cataract surgery with a monofocal IOL, plus a few retinal procedures where clinically indicated. Premium IOLs (toric, EDOF, trifocal) are NOT covered and must be paid out-of-pocket.
Do I need to pay anything in advance?

No. Ayushman Bharat is fully cashless. You do not pay anything at the hospital.
Can I upgrade to a premium IOL under Ayushman?

The IOL upgrade is not covered but the surgery is. You pay only the difference between the covered IOL and the premium IOL — a common route for patients who want toric/EDOF/trifocal but cannot afford the full private cost.
What documents do I need to bring?

Ayushman card (if issued) + Aadhaar card. If Ayushman not issued, Aadhaar + ration card or SECC verification letter.
